Lower School

The Lower School staff work hard to ensure that all children enjoy coming to school and feel secure and safe in a family atmosphere. At  St Christopher's we plan a varied teaching and learning programme that nurtures and cares for the children whilst also being demanding and challenging at this vital stage of development.

Each child's talent is recognised and staff are enthusiastic about building children's self confidence so that they can achieve to the best of their ability. Manners and good beahviour are modelled and encouraged as a matter of course with children receiving rewards via the 'Pluses system' which acknowledges good conduct alongside effort, endeavour and academic attainment

The children in the Lower School (from Reception to Year 3) begin an exciting learning journey which sees them develop their skills and abilities motivated by a skilful teaching team who are keen to help each child to achieve to the very best of their ability.

In addition to key skills and subjects being taught by form tutors, they will also learn French, Mandarin, Spanish and PE, Games and Music with subject specialists.
