Co-curricular at St Christopher's

Music has long been at the heart of St Christopher's. We have an excellent choral tradition with the school choirs as well as a new Jazz ensemble. Musical events each year include the Chamber Concert, Piano Recital and Summer Concert, as well as regular soloists in Assembly.

The Houses compete against each other in annual House Music competition. The choirs perform at the church services each term, and a calendar highlight is the traditional Carol Service at All Saints' Church, where several of our children are choristers.

From Reception upwards Music is taught by a specialist teacher. Pupils make use of Music Technology to compose and record their own compositions, learn about musical notation, aural training, listening and critiquing music, and understanding how music fits into history.

Individual tuition is available in a variety of instruments, including woodwind, brass, strings, percussion, guitar and vocal lessons. In recent years, St Christopher's has sent many children to their senior schools on Music Scholarships and Exhibitions.
