"Excellent" in all areas.(ISI Inspection Report June 2015)

Dear Parents,

As many of you are aware, we were visited by a team of 4 inspectors from Tuesday 9th June to Friday 12th June. They interviewed a large number of pupils and staff, observed numerous lessons and analysed a very large number of anonymous questionnaires from pupils and parents.

Schools are graded according to four descriptors: ‘Excellent’ (the equivalent of ‘Outstanding’ in the state sector), ‘Good’, ‘Sound’ or ‘Unsatisfactory’.

I am delighted to inform you that the inspectors gave us the coveted ‘Excellent’ rating for every area of school life. In other words, under every heading, St. Christopher’s received the highest grade possible:

1.

Achievement and Learning

Excellent

Curricular and co-curricular

Overall judgement: Excellent

I am absolutely delighted for the girls, boys, teachers and support staff who work so hard to ensure that this school is the special place we believe it to be. I am also delighted for and grateful to you, our parents, who are so very supportive of the school. This is first and foremost their and your achievement. All of the inspectors commented on the natural friendliness of the children and on the warm relationships they have with their teachers, and the Lead Inspector felt that one child reflected better than any the nature of the school when he said, ‘St Christopher’s is like a second family’.

Of course there are still things we can do better and I see this report as a springboard for further improvement, not a laurel on which to rest. But for the moment, I thought you might like to share in our delight that the school we believe St. Christopher’s to be is the school that our inspectors also found it to be. The full inspection report can be found in "Userful Information" on our school website. I do hope that you enjoy reading it.

With kind regards,

Yours sincerely,

 Julian Withers
