A windswept Hove Park witnessed the whole of the Prep School competing in our House Cross Country Competition this morning. The sea of red competitors, a little chilled but very excited, took up the challenge of the course with relish. Some are born to run the longer distance, some are not, but it was heartening to see so many children enjoying the exercise and the competition. Cross Country running tends to show character and I was delighted that not one of our pupils fell short in showing it.
This morning there were goodbyes in Assembly as well as the celebration of achievement which our Final Assembly brings. The applause for our departing Junior Masters and trainee teachers was as generous as the service they have given. It was testimony to the very high regard in which they are held by both children and staff here. In Milan Shah, Riya Joshi, Mimi Fullerton, Charlie ... and Billy Murphy we have been lucky indeed. They have been wonderful role models for the children, whose lives have been the richer for their service. I wish them, the extraordinarily dedicated teachers at St Christopher’s, our pupils and you a very restful and happy Easter break.
