It has been a busy week and I think all will be ready for the Christmas break, a time to spend with family and friends, to reflect, an opportunity to celebrate the birth of Christ. This morning was a chance to celebrate some of the achievements of the children over the week and over the term, collective and individual. Not all can be named individually in a Newsletter or in an Assembly but it was lovely to see the enthusiasm with which those who had not won an award applauded those who had.
Final Assembly is also a time to thank all the teachers and staff at the school who dedicate their working lives to the care and education of your children. On a personal note, it was difficult to find words to match the service Angie Moore has given to the children at St Christopher’s and to our community. We are fortunate indeed that our lives are touched sometimes by very special people and Angie is extremely special. In her generosity of nature, her dedication to others, her selflessness and her kindness she is a model for us all, children and adults. She was very touched by presents from the Parents’ Association, the children and the staff but even more so by the very palpable warmth and affection in which all hold her.
I wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a very happy New Year.
