The first School Assembly of the term was led by our Head of School, Holly P. Holly used a story about mature elephants in Sri Lanka to illustrate a point. She informed us that these elephants were tied by a very thin rope from which they could easily break free never did. The reason for this: they had been tied as very young elephants with the same rope, failed to break from it when young and so stopped trying. There was a lesson for all of us about perseverance which Holly went on to explain and illustrate with considerable poise.
It was lovely to see all the pupils back on Tuesday for the start of a term which is exacting but also rewarding and great fun. The term starts with a number of super events. On Sunday many of us will be watching the Brighton Marathon. I would like to thank those who are helping at our water station and wish any who are running the very best of luck. A fortnight later it is our Spring Fair and I have been asked to remind parents that Friday 20th April is a mufti day for the children, in thanks for their donations for the tombola at the Spring Fair, which should be brought in over the course of the following week.
