The Year 5, Year 6, and Year 7 pupils have looked absolutely exhausted on their return from their respective trips this week, but it is clear that they have had terrific fun and thoroughly enjoyed spending time outside with their friends, occupied in activities which are so good for them in the broadest educational sense. So too the younger pupils, who have been out on a number of day trips to include a Mini Zoo, the Beach, the undercliff path, ‘Bistro Nantais’, Three Peaks and more. This is our first Trips Week and the children have thoroughly enjoyed the experiences they have had. My thanks to the many teachers who have given so much time to ensure that the children have had so much fun.
I have felt for those in Year 8 who have been sitting their Common Entrance papers but they have been in very good spirits and can now look forward to the Leavers’ Trip to Dorset, where they deserve what should be a real treat for them. It is such events which children remember most fondly when they look back at their Prep School days. They remember it all the more fondly because it is such a well-earned reward for their perseverance, diligence and self-discipline over a year which has brought challenges which have resulted in terrific academic and all-round progress. I am full of admiration for each and every one of them.
