On Thursday afternoon, Mr Kennedy, a Mathematics teacher and Housemaster at Brighton College, spoke to the pupils in Assembly. He spoke about swimming the Channel, something he did with a colleague in aid of a wonderful cause. It was inspirational for the children to hear about the challenges and the rewards brought by such an achievement, so much greater because of the worthiness of the cause. His presentation made us all think about the virtue and the rewards of selflessness.
Earlier in the week, on Monday morning we had a range of acting performances by those studying LAMDA Drama. It was affirming to see the confidence of the children who performed in front of a large assembly, taking comfort from the support they received from their partner. There will be further opportunities to perform for our musicians next week in our Teatime Recital, at which I hope to see a number of you.
Let’s hope that before then England have beaten Argentina in the World Cup, Storm Lorenzo has passed, and you have all had a jolly good weekend.
