Miss Lowe's reflections on the week,
As a wet and windy week draws to a close, we have much to celebrate and look back on. A major highlight of the week was our Chinese New Year celebration on Tuesday, which thrilled and amazed the younger children, whilst helping the older ones further understand Chinese culture and beliefs. Work in the classrooms this week has also had a Chinese flavour, from calligraphy to Confucianism.
For the second week running, it is a pleasure to feature outstanding sporting success! The U11A Girls won the Windlesham House tournament, and the U10s came second in a similar event at Burgess Hill, winning the goal shooting competition. Such energy and enthusiasm on the Netball court is highly commendable in this chilly weather.
Rehearsals are in full swing for not one but three Drama productions, and we are looking forward to next week’s Year 3 performance of Annie. Music and Art also feature in this week’s Newsletter, showing how well the non-academic life of the school helps to brighten up these gloomy Winter days. Today’s edition also features photographic contributions from three of our Senior pupils, for which the Editor is very grateful.
School was on show for Open Morning today, and I was greatly impressed with how smart the children looked, and how polite and articulate they were with our visitors, many of whom commented on this.
We hope to see many of you at next Friday’s PA Quiz Night, for which tickets are selling fast. Have a warm and relaxing weekend.
