Pastoral Care

Building a culture of kindness

St Christopher’s is very much a family school and we strive to maintain a caring environment in which kindness, good manners and respect for others is nurtured, encouraged and rewarded. Above all, we ensure that each child is happy and has the confidence to achieve their full potential.

Form Tutors

Good pastoral care is essential for a child to flourish. Our children are celebrated as individuals and are supported through their journey at St Christopher’s by a dedicated and enthusiastic team of Form Tutors. The Deputy Head Pastoral oversees the pastoral care, ensuring that the children feel supported and valued across all areas of life at school.

House System

To encourage healthy competition and a sense of belonging, each pupil joins one of our four Houses. This allows different years to work together in teams for various House competitions and encourages healthy competition and teamwork. We strongly value our links with the local community, and our pupils support various local charities throughout the year.

Growth mindset

At St Christopher’s it’s not that you can’t do something it’s that you can’t do it yet! Based on Carol Dweck’s groundbreaking research on learning, all children are encouraged to use a growth mindset when approaching a new skill. A growth mindset is modelled by our entire school community. As our Head always says, practise makes progress.

The Wellbeing Hub

Parents, pupils, and staff all have access to The Wellbeing Hub, a comprehensive resource that supports Wellbeing, Mental Health and Resilience.

"Pupils exhibit a deep appreciation of diversity and cultural understanding, viewing kindness as essential to their relationships."
