Children visit the Headmaster's Study with especially good work, receiving Headmaster's Commendations

Welcome to St Christopher's, a vibrant and highly successful co-educational IAPS Prep School in the heart of Hove. I hope that this website gives a glimpse of the rich and varied opportunities the children enjoy.

A Brighton College school, St Christopher’s is very much a family school with numbers which enable a broad range of curricular and co-curricular opportunities, but also facilitate the celebration of every child as the unique individual he or she is. At the heart of the school, a culture of kindness, courtesy, and curiosity breeds confidence within a highly supportive community with enviable teacher pupil ratios. Children’s insatiable thirst for knowledge and understanding is embraced by dedicated teachers who rejoice in the belief that every one of our pupils can and will excel, be that in the classroom, on the sports field, on stage or in the many co-curricular activities we provide.

We combine the best of traditional values with a modern outlook, illustrated by our innovative use of ICT systems and the breadth and range of what we offer in and outside the classroom. Boys and girls have the chance to play sport together as well as by gender, and our children find new talents through a programme providing a rich range of activities, making the most of the exciting venues and opportunities which are offered in the vibrant city of Brighton and Hove. Many and varied are the opportunities that St Christopher's has to offer but don't take my word for it or reckon on this website giving you anything but the briefest of snapshots into what the school can do for your child: call up and come and see us; meet with myself, teachers and pupils; take a tour of the school with one of our senior pupils and get a feel for what I believe is a wonderful school.

I very much look forward to seeing you.

Julian Withers.
