Glebe Villas

St Christopher’s journey begins at our Glebe Villas site, where our Early Years Foundation Stage (Reception
class) children enjoy a large green field site with plenty of opportunities for outdoor learning and play. Our
sports fields are also located here. The whole school community makes use of the site for events like our
annual Sports Day and Prize Giving.

Brighton College is the top co-educational school in the country and was named the United Kingdom’s School
of the Decade by The Sunday Times in November 2020. The Times named the College as “one of the hottest
tickets in independent education”. Brighton College focuses on creating an environment of kindness and
inclusivity, where everyone looks out for one another, enabling pupils to flourish personally, academically and
spiritually. St Christopher’s is very proud to be part of the Brighton College Family of Schools.

Southwick Leisure Centre

Our Games Department makes use of the best sports facilities across the city, such as Southwick’s indoor
courts and astroturf, as well as Withdean, the King Alfred, and Brighton Rugby Club, to enable training and
matches in all weather conditions. Hockey, Netball, Football, Rugby, and Cricket are St Christopher’s main
sports, and we have a long tradition of sporting success against much larger schools.

Drama at St Christopher’s takes you on a journey from the Reception Nativity play to the stage of The Barn

group takes part in a Drama production over the course of the school year, and we are regular participants in
the Schools’ Shakespeare Festival at The Old Market, Hove.

The Royal Pavilion

The Pavilion is just one of the many historic buildings, museums, and locations across Sussex explored by
our children to enhance their classroom learning. Topics come alive as we explore castles, galleries, and
everything from rockpooling at Beach School to a Science trip at the observatory science centre.

Hove Lagoon

Hove Lagoon is one of many facilities in the city we use for co-curricular activities, with our children enjoying
wind-surfing and paddleboarding sessions. Other popular activities include Beach Volleyball at YelloWave at
the Marina.

Hove Lawns

Perhaps our most visual annual event is our Sponsored Run along Hove seafront, with the city’s trademark
beach huts as a backdrop. Our four Houses each support a local charity, with the pupils competing to raise

the most money. St Christopher’s is also on the route of the Brighton Marathon, acting as a Water Station with
children and parents volunteering.
