Learn how to make a Great Stellated Dodecahedron!

Learn how to make a Great Stellated Dodecahedron!

Mathematics teaching at St Christopher's is vibrant, engaging and challenging using many interactive software and web based subscription resources to supplement a core traditional syllabus, making the subject come alive and be more accessible to the majority rather than the minority.

There is a strong emphasis placed on mental mathematics and agility to give the children confidence in their handling of number. I very much want the children to be versatile in their approach to calculations, making appropriate decisions about what to do to solve a question in the simplest possible way.

Some of the younger children even learn about fractions by visiting Pizza Express and making and eating Pizza.

The children study the four elements of Number, Algebra, Shape, Space and Data Handling and are prepared for CE and Scholarship examinations as well as the UK Mathematics Challenge. There are occasional House Competitions such as House Nubble - a very popular interactive number game.

So step inside the subject that is at the centre of the universe, the business world and the natural world and find out why it really is possible to build  something that is 'bigger on the inside than on the outside' - yes a Tardis is possible to make!
